There are some changes in store when The Arc Baltimore holds its 29th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, May 15.

For the first time ever, this year’s Golf Tournament – the proceeds of which benefit The Arc Baltimore’s programs and services for adults and children with developmental disabilities – will be held at The Country Club of Maryland, 1101 Stevenson Lane in Towson, Maryland. The Tournament will also have a new start time: 12 noon, with sign-in beginning at 10:30 am.

While the time and course will be different in 2023, many of the features that regular participants have grown to enjoy remain, including a shotgun start, 18 holes of golf, special holes, and opportunities to win individual, team, and door prizes. As in the past, golfers will wrap up the day with a chance to bid on a great assortment of items during the annual silent auction.

“The Golf Tournament is one of The Arc Baltimore’s largest and most anticipated annual fund raisers, contributing nearly $100,000 each year toward programs and services which allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live independently, work in meaningful jobs, and enjoy friendships and activities in the community,” says Kathleen Durkin, the organization’s Chief Executive Officer.

“While this year’s tournament will bring some exciting changes, it’s the ongoing generosity of our golfers and corporate sponsors – including our title sponsor again this year, Scientific Plant Service – that has made the critical difference in The Arc Baltimore’s ability to provide support for these individuals,” Durkin continues.

She notes that the Country Club of Maryland represents “one of the few remaining courses in the Mid-Atlantic built during the golden age of architecture.” Completed in 1925, the course features a layout of gentle, rolling terrain highlighted by streams and natural woodlands.

Sponsorship opportunities for the 29th Annual Golf Tournament, ranging from as low as $250 to as high as $6,000 for the “Eagle Plus” sponsor level, are now open. Sponsors enjoy a wide range of benefits, including company logo recognition on-site throughout the tournament and in advance through event advertising, promotions, and social media.

Golfers can also register now for the tournament. Participation is $200 for individual golfers and $800 for foursomes.
