Hear stories from people whose lives were changed by drugs and alcohol - the thrills, the perils, the regrets, and the struggles. There will also be a special musical performance by American Idol Top 10 Finalist, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon.
Streaming live from Creative Alliance, the evening will feature real people sharing stories that highlight the complicated, and often contradictory relationships we have with drugs and alcohol. Their stories may be funny, sad, or serious, but they’re all true. Rounding out the event will be a performance by American Idol's Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon and Q&A with the story tellers.
Of Substance is sponsored by Jewish Community Services, Behavioral Health System Baltimore, Catholic Charities, MedStar Health, Baltimore Jewish Council, Maryland Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence, NAMI Metro Baltimore, Goucher College, Creative Alliance, Stoop Storytelling Series, and Baltimore Magazine, as part of National Recovery Month. Support for the event is also being provided by The Marilyn and David Carp Philanthropic Fund and The Joan G. Klein Fund for Substance Use Disorders.
The event will stream live on on the Stoop Storytelling Series Facebook page, on the Facebook pages of the sponsoring organizations, and on the Creative Alliance YouTube Channel.
