Classical Pianist Lee Bong Ki

Pianist Lee Bong Ki is principal of Yoonin Music Arts College and an Executive Director of both the Naejangsan International Music Festival and Saemankeum International Music Festival. As a well-known pianist, Lee has been awarded multiple times in and outside of Korea, including the Korean Music Award, the Seoul Musical Grand Award, Ik-San Citizen Grand Prize, and Vladivostok Asia-Pacific Festival Performance Award. He graduated from Wonkwang University and later from Hanyang University and Hochschule für Musik und Tanz köln (Cologne University of Music). He was Associate Professor at Chonnam National University and the first Korean exchange professor receiving the DAAD Fellowship at Hochschule fuer Musik Detmold -Abteilung Dortmund.

Lee started his international career when he was invited to the Tokyo International Concours, sponsored by the Music Association of Korea. He performed in the New Year Celebration Piano Recital co-hosted by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation and KBS Gwangju, the concert at the National Assembly of Korea, and the 20th Independence Celebration Concert of Ukraine where he conducted the Mozart Piano Sonata (NO. 1-18), Beethoven Piano Sonata (NO. 1-32), and Chopin Piano Studies (NO. 1-24). He has also performed with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, Korean Chamber Orchestra, National Chorus of Korea, Daegu Municipal Orchestra, Gwangju Municipal Orchestra, Jeonju Municipal Orchestra, Busan Municipal Orchestra, National Police Symphony Orchestra, the French Chamber of Music, the Seoul Academy Chamber of Music, ???????? Symphony of Russia, the Vladivostok Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chernigov Orchestra. In 2018 he became the first pianist to perform recitals in all six cities of North Jeolla Province in Korea. Lee actively performs a wide range of music activities both in Korea and around the world. As executive director of two major music festivals in Korea, Lee collaborates with musicians from all over the world. His third recital world tour will visit the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Germany, and Italy.
