6th Annual Saturday 'Visiter' Awards - Submit Your Poe Inspired Work

Are you fan of the mysterious, the strange, the gruesome or the eccentric?  Are you a writer or artist or film maker or performer? Draw upon your favorite works of Edgar Allan Poe and enter the 6^th Annual Saturday “Visiter” awards, opening January 19, Poe’s birthday; deadline to enter is May 30, 2024.

The Saturday “Visiter” Awards are an international contest honoring a new generation of artists and writers inspired by the legacy of Edgar Allan Poe and recognizes the best in multiple categories such as film, art, performance, and writing. The Saturday “Visiter” Awards are named after the prize a young Poe won in 1833 from the Saturday Visiter, a weekly periodical published in Baltimore. That prize launched the famed writer’s career. The fee for SVA submission is $25 per entry and nominees will be given a ticket to the Black Cat Ball, a prize medal and a “Saturday Visiter Awards” designation for their work. Judges for the 2024 awards include representatives from preeminent Poe institutions and arts locations, including Baltimore’s own Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum, The Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia, The Poe Cottage in New York, and others.
