All the World is a Stage: A Retrospective of Portraits by award-winning Maryland artist Sam Robinson, is on display in the South Hall of the Broadmead Community Center through April 28, 2023. Presented by the Broadmead Arts Council, the exhibition is open to the public.Best known for his realistic sporting life and equine-related paintings, All the World is a Stage showcases another aspect of Sam Robinson’s work and features figures and portraits that capture specific moments of expressed feeling. “That feeling might not be obvious, it is more often a sense of presence I look for”, says Robinson. The exhibited works are painted in a looser more impressionistic style and offer viewers a different facet of Robinson’s work.
A member of the Portrait Society of America, Sam Robinson has twice received the Society’s “Best Portfolio” award. He has also won a Certificate of Merit in the International Portrait Competition and an Honorable Mention in the members only Self-Portrait Competition.
