Stocks in the Future's Fifth Annual March Market Madness Fundraising Event

Stocks in the Future (SIF)aBaltimore-based nonprofit organization that teaches financial literacy to middle school students in underserved communities,is hosting its annual March Market Madness fundraising eventon Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Tracey L. Durant, Director of Equity for Baltimore City Public Schools. Proceeds will directly benefit the program that currently serves more than 900 students at 19 schools in Baltimore and surrounding areas. As its primary annual fundraising event, March Market Madness provides essential support the SIF program. Last year’s event raised approximately $35,000. 

Event attendees will enjoy an evening at the beautiful Glass Pavilion at Johns Hopkins University’s Levering Hall, overlooking the campus grounds. Now in its fifth year, this fundraiser is a fun, casual basketball/Wall Street mash-up. Each year, approximately 200 members of the local business community come each year for a chance to kick back, socialize, and join forces to support a great cause.Guests will also be treated to plentiful hors d’oeuvres, a wine and beer bar, and professional networking opportunities. 

Additional event features include:

  • Silent Auction featuring more than 80 items, featuring tickets to the Mayor’s Suite at Camden Yards, a two-night stay at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, sports memorabilia, and an array of products and services from Baltimore’s premier local businesses.
  • S&P 500 2019 Final Closing Bell Contest – guess the 2019 close for cash prizes
  • Frantic Frenzy Free Throw Basketball Contest – celebrate March Madness arcade style
  • A chance to learn about SIF from the source – hear from SIF students and educators
