Stocks in the Future (SIF), aBaltimore-based nonprofit organization that teaches financial literacy to middle school students in underserved communities,is hosting its annual March Market Madness fundraising eventon Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Tracey L. Durant, Director of Equity for Baltimore City Public Schools. Proceeds will directly benefit the program that currently serves more than 900 students at 19 schools in Baltimore and surrounding areas. As its primary annual fundraising event, March Market Madness provides essential support the SIF program. Last year’s event raised approximately $35,000.
Event attendees will enjoy an evening at the beautiful Glass Pavilion at Johns Hopkins University’s Levering Hall, overlooking the campus grounds. Now in its fifth year, this fundraiser is a fun, casual basketball/Wall Street mash-up. Each year, approximately 200 members of the local business community come each year for a chance to kick back, socialize, and join forces to support a great cause.Guests will also be treated to plentiful hors d’oeuvres, a wine and beer bar, and professional networking opportunities.
