Omari Russell & Friends

Omari Russell is a 23 year old tenor saxophonist in the Baltimore – D.C. area.  Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, he began clarinet at the age of 5 and learned saxophone at the age of 8 under the tutelage of his father, Benny Russell.  Since then, he has played as a sideman on many projects ranging across many different genres including: jazz, ska, rock, and fusion.  Now Omari is seeking to make his name for himself as a leader and bring a new and “Baltimore sound” inspired style to the jazz scene.
