Deep Dive: Music 002 panel, "BREAKING BIG Into the Business"

Port Covington's Deep Dive: Music 002 panel, "BREAKING BIG Into the Business" will be held on March 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Betamore in City Garage. Deep Dive: Music 002 will feature a powerhouse panel of Baltimore music industry experts discussing success strategies for booking, promoting shows, and radio and digital marketing.

The Deep Dive series was created to promote collective conversation among Baltimore community and area business leaders. The free events feature music, meaningful panel discussions and networking opportunities for all who attend. The first Deep Dive event focusing on Baltimore's Music Industry was held at City Garage in February 2018, drawing a capacity crowd.

Deep Dive: Music 002 will begin at 6 p.m. with music by DJ Allure, and a live performance from Funsho of NBC’s The Voice. Admission and parking is free.

From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., a panel discussion will be moderated by Eze Jackson, Host/Producer, The Real News Network. Jackson is an emcee, journalist, activist, and frontman of the band Soul Cannon.

Panelists will include:

  • Samantha Herr, Marketing Director, Rams Head Live – Herr is a marketing guru with experience in new artist development, album releases, and event promotions.
  • Von Vargas, DC Chapter President, Recording Academy – Vargas is a musical artist, producer, songwriter, and live sound designer.
  • Sam Gallant, Host, WTMD Radio – Gallant is the Assistant Program Director for WTMD Radio with over 20 years of experience in radio.
  • Tracye Stafford, President & CEO, Ikon Entertainment – Stafford is an influential concert promoter and one of the firsts to bring A-list hip hop acts to Baltimore.
  • Athena Hiotis, Owner, Pop Riot Music – Hiotis is a musician, producer, songwriter, and co-owner of an agency that creates marketing for musicians.

From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., the event will conclude with an Audience Q&A and open networking.
