Grab the lights and cue the holiday music: The 32nd annual Festival of Trees returns Nov. 26-28 for three days of holiday fun that benefits the patients, students and programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
This year, the Institute has reimagined the iconic three-day Festival to include both on-site and online activities that capture the spirit of the season but also ensure that Kennedy Krieger’s patients, students, families, employees and partners remain safe.
A new activity for 2021 is an outside toy drive at the Maryland State Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that will feature music and a visit from Santa Claus and other loveable characters. The weekend also will include online Q&As with Santa Claus and Disney Princesses, an online concert with kid-favorite Milkshake, and online activities for kids, including craft directions, coloring pages and recipes.
The star on top of the tree, of course, are the hundreds of designer-decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses that are for sale and that Festival-goers have come to love. The viewing and sale of trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses will be online this year and will feature a streamlined pickup process at the fairgrounds for buyers.
